Linwood "Pal" Arrington, age 67, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Born in Halifax County, NC on June 9, 1948, he was the son of the late Theodies Arrington and Bertha Davis Arrington.
Linwood proudly served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman for six years. Following his honorable discharge, Pal continued his federal service with the U.S. Postal Service from which he retired following many years as a postal carrier. Throughout his life, he never met a stranger and was a friend to all he met. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. His family was the center of his life and he cherished his family as they will continue to cherish him.
Pal leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Beverlyn Rhoades-Ricks of Rocky Mount; Liane DiStefano and her husband, Joseph of Fredericksburg, VA; and Melanie Arrington of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Masheka Knight and her husband, Jerimy; Monica Johnson and her husband, Jamison; Christian DiStefano; Caroline DiStefano; Javontay Rhoades; and Joshua Ricks; his great-grandchildren, Jayla Lyons; Jamison Johnson; and Jaiden Johnson; his sisters, Barbara Woodward, Carolyn Whitaker, Delorse Battle, and Regina Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 12:00 in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Pastor Dwight Bryant officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
