He served three terms as Nash County's representative on the Rocky Mount Board of Adjustments, and as Advisor on the Nash County Tarheel Farm Credit Board of Directors.Love and service to God, home, and country were what he believed to be most important in this life and to be with Christ eternally in the hereafter.

Marsha I am so sorry to hear about your father. What a remarkable man! Sending love and prayers to you and your family.
I had the privilege of singing with Lester in one of those aforementioned gospel quartets. He was an extraordinary fine man. Full of humility yet highly respected. I really looked up to him. I have no doubts that he is singing now.
Sally, Marsha, Donna, and family, I was saddened to learn of Lester’s passing. I do not call it a death, because surely he is alive and with Jesus forever. One day we will be reunited with our loved ones. What a celebration that will be. Lester made a positive impact on my life and many others. I have many fond memories of you all. You all are in our prayers. Eugene and Joy Weaver.
Sally, we were so sad, when we read Lester’s obituary in the paper this morning. We have been saying that we needed to check on you both for months now. Regretfully, good intentions are never enough. We hope you know how special Lester was to us and how very dear he was to my dad, John Pollard, who died in 2015. Lester was a true blessing to us during that time. I picture them together again, laughing and talking. We grieve with you and hope God’s peace surrounds you and your family in the days ahead. Jeanette & Harry Cain and Reba Pollard
