ROCKY MOUNT - Leslie Ann Nicole Hilhorst, age 20, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019. Born in Nash County, NC on May 14, 1999, she is the daughter of Kenneth Edmond Hilhorst and Kimberly Pierce Hilhorst. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Peggy and Richard Pierce.
Leslie leaves behind to cherish her memory her parents; sisters, Brittany Hilhorst Pardo and her husband Carl of Rocky Mount, and Victoria Hilhorst; her paternal grandparents, Lodewijk and Annegie Hilhorst. She is also survived by her niece, Margaret Pardo, and her nephew, Carlos Pardo.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 331 Hammond Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Father Tim Meares celebrating. Interment will follow the mass at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 6:00 PM followed by the family receiving friends and relatives until 8:00 PM in the basement of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Leslie's memory to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School, 315 Hammond Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

My deepest sympathy to the family. When I first met Leslie she told me she was from Nash county. I told her my grandfather had a farm there way back. She ask me where. When I told her She knew right where it was. That was a special day for me! I was very blessed to have met her and I will miss her smile that brighten everyone’s day!

Leslie the first time I saw you was in church. I was sitting in the back row and you came in with your family through the front door and sat in the front row. I was going to be going your school in a matter of weeks and the first thing I thought about you was “oh I hope she doesn’t go to my new school ” 🤣 the reality of the reason why was because you were SO BEAUTIFUL and I felt intimidated by that. As teenage girls tend to 🤣 BUT how greatful I am that you WERE going to my school and in my class ! What a beautiful friendship we had. you brought out adventure in me , the fun joking side of me , you were so full of love and life and laughter and fun. I remember all the nights we stayed up late to midnight or later playing soccer to help you practice:) I remember the traditional movies amd TV shows we’d watch like Jon tucker must die or the bold and the beautiful. I remember all the times we’d spend with your grandma , your sister Victoria, the sleepovers , the long talks , the laughs , the tears , the breakups and makeups , I confided in you for many things, it’s a friendship I will always cherish.
