ROCKY MOUNT - Juanita Collins Viverette passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2015 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers disease. She was born on April 22, 1929 to Clarence and Verna Collins in Townsend, VA.
She married Kevin Viverette of Enfield, NC in June of 1951 and they remained newlyweds until his death in June of 2008. During their marriage, they lived in Enfield, Rocky Mount, and Emerald Isle. As her health declined, she resided at The Albemarle in Tarboro and The Carolina House in Wake Forest.
Juanita was first and foremost a loving wife and a devoted mother. She was an excellent cook and truly enjoyed entertaining others with her food and hospitality, especially at Christmas. She was also an avid gardener - growing beautiful flowers and creating gorgeous arrangements - and is a past member of the Rocky Mount Garden Club and the Emerald Isle Garden Club. Juanita was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church where she and Kevin attended for many years.
Juanita is survived by her only child and devoted son, Wade and his wife, LeighAnn of Emerald Isle, NC.
A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield, NC on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 2:00pm with Dr. John Dutton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made online at alznc.org in Juanitas memory or to Alzheimers Association Eastern North Carolina, 3739 National Dr., Suite 110, Raleigh, NC. 27612.

Kevin, Your mother was a beautiful, loving lady and I feel blessed to have been her friend and worked with her at church activities when she and your father were here. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family. God bless. Pat Snee
Wade, family, and friends~ Nita was a lovely person, always joyful and kind during the years I had the pleasure of being in her company. My sincere sympathy to you all now, as the final stage of ‘letting go’ occurs. May many sweet memories ease your sorrow, and keep your hearts filled with joy from times shared together. Terri Boseman Tompkins
Wade and family, Sympathy to you in the loss of your beautiful mother. I was acquainted with your late grandmother Grace Viverette and your aunt Annie Gray. I met your parents through your grandmother. Thoughts and prayers are with you as you adjust to this tremendous break in your family circle. May peace and comfort be your constant companion during this time. Sincerely, Colleen Bunting
Nita was a sweet and dear friend to my family. She will be greatly missed. I have many good memories, the one I remember most was Nita directing our wedding in 1984. She of course did a wonderful job! Growing up I remember most Nita & Kevin entertaining at their lovely home enjoying delicious food and friendship. Thinking of you Wade and your family with deepest sympathy. Janet Hines Baker
