Joyce Marie Fisher Evans

Rocky Mount - Joyce Marie Fisher Evans, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 22, 2015, surrounded by her family. Born in Huntsville, AL on February 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Fisher and Elma Golden Fisher. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Rev. Lawrence D. Evans; her son, Doug Evans; her son-in-law, Larry Proctor; her two sisters; and her four brothers. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her memory will be in the hearts of all who knew her. Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Donna Evans Proctor; and Sharon Drupple; her son, Mark Evans, and his wife, Ronette. She is survived by her grandchildren, Kevin, Karen, Daniel, Matthew and Grace; and her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Wyatt, Jude and Luke. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services with Dr. Harry Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 4948 Carter Road, Elm City, NC 27822.   1. My heart is sad to hear of the passing of this wonderful ‘Mom’ to all her ‘Southside’ children but it rejoices to know that she is in the presence of Jesus!! Such a saintly, kind, loving woman who showed the love of God every day! My deepest thoughts & prayers are with you, Donna, Sharon, Mark & your families in the days ahead! I know that she was so happy to see Mr. Evans, the love of her life!! Love you guys!!!
