Johnny Albert Cobb, age 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2014. Born in Wilson County on April 11, 1951, he was the son of the late Johnny Harrison Cobb and Ruby Anderson Jackson.
Johnny worked in construction for forty years as a mill wright. He retired from Construct and was previously employed with Edwards. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him.
Johnny leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Rita Webb Cobb of Rocky Mount, NC; one son, Johnnie Ray Cobb and his wife, Joy of Rocky Mount, NC and one daughter, Angela Brown and her husband, Ken of Nashville, NC. He is also survived by two sisters, Regina Rankin and her husband, John and Alice Wiggins; three brothers, Donald Cobb, Jeffrey Jackson and Augustus Cobb and his wife, Connie. He is survived by grandchildren: Kayla Boykin, Grey Cobb, Dylan, Alexus and Justin Brown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014, at 1:00 pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Preston Holmes officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
