John Carl Heim Jr, of Grand Haven, Michigan, stepped into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 8, 2026.  John was born on August 21, 1935, to the late John Carl Heim and Monica Pauline Kerpinski Heim in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

John was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Monica Heim and his precious wife, Sharon Heim. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Shattuck; son, John (Jack) Heim, III and his wife, Joy; son-in-law, Bill Shattuck; his 6 grandchildren, Joshua Shattuck, Jana Borrink, Stephen Shattuck, Monica Shattuck, Abigail Dixon and John Heim, IV; his 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Walt Heim and Ruth Lubbers; and many dear extended family members.

  3. Sue, Jack and your families. I’m so sorry to hear of John’s passing. I have so many great memories of him and Sharon as well as the both of you. You all were a big part of our lives growing up. From church to babysitting to snowmobiling. He was the one that told me very early on, that snowmobiles were meant to go fast, so hold that throttle down kid. Which after that I rode them fast and with out fear. I can honestly say that he was the person that started my “need for speed”. Which is still true to this day.I’ll never forget the kind words he said at my mom’s celebration of life. The story he told about her made everyone laugh, but also showed just how much my mom meant to them. For that I will always be grateful. I will keep your families in my prayers for strength and comfort.

  4. my Big Brother Thats what I called him What a great brother he was too !! I cetainly will miss ,our phone calls mostly about cars , we had a lotta good times over the years . Will miss him a lot!

  5. When John was on the deacon board at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Grand Haven he was assigned to Building and Ground. I appreciated his help, and I enjoyed the time we rode together to Voss Lighting in Grand Rapids in his corvette.
