Battleboro - Jerry Pleze Bulluck, Sr., age 73, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, surrounded by his family, after a long but courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on September 14, 1941, he was the son of the late Plez Otis Bulluck and Lucy Davis Bulluck. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers Ray Davis, Otis Bulluck and Billy Bulluck.
Jerry grew up active in 4-H and attended National 4-H Congress. He loved playing basketball and played all four years before graduating from North Edgecombe High School. He attended Campbell University and returned to Battleboro to work for Watson Seed Farm and MC Braswell Company. He was the owner and operator of Jerry Bulluck Construction Company, a business which he founded 1972. It was in high school where he met and later married the love of his life, Margaret Lancaster Bulluck. They were devoted to each other for 54 years and together they raised three children and five grandchildren.
Jerry was a member of Battleboro Baptist Church, active in the Battleboro Community and Edgecombe County. He believed that service to his community was a high calling. For many years he was dedicated to the Fire Department of Battleboro, serving as Fire Chief as well as a Battleboro Town Commissioner for 28 years and a member of the Edgecombe County School Board. As an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, and riding his ATV.
Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Margaret Lancaster Bulluck; his three children, Karen Bulluck and her husband, Tommy Boykin; Kimberly Krueger and J.P. Bulluck and his wife, Karen; his five grandchildren, Jeremy, Jonathan and Kayla Bulluck and Cameron and Karsyn Krueger; and his canine companion, Charlie. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 4:00pm in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount NC 27804 with Parker Phillips officiating. Visitation with the family will be at 2:00pm - 4:00pm prior to the service. The family will have a private burial at Battleboro Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all of his caregivers with special thanks to Dr. Camilla Proctor. Her devotion to his medical well-being as well as her friendship will never be forgotten.

Mr. Bulluck would always speak when he saw me. I use to drive a Cavalier. I had driven it for about 7 years, and everytime he saw that car , he would say, do u have a new car I would say no, this is the same old car.he would say u sure take care of it, i said thank u. He will be missed.

Karen I am so sorry for your loss I didn’t know your father but Billy often spoke of him and said what a great person he was. Knowing you I can tell he passed alot of his special qualities on to you. My prayers are with you and your family.
