Janice Bottoms Holder

BATTLEBORO – Janice Bottoms Holder, age 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 1, 2025.  Born in Edgecombe County, NC on May 4, 1945, she was the daughter of the late George Burnice Bottoms and Lucy Polly Williams Bottoms. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Holder; her baby boy, William Turner Patterson, Jr.; her brothers, George Alton Bottoms and Robert “Bobby” Bottoms; and her sister, Katie Taylor.

Janice was a member of the West Mount Baptist Church of Rocky Mount since 1977, where she was Bible School assistant teacher and taught BTU classes on a part time basis for several years.  Her hobbies included reading and flower arranging and she also enjoyed fishing.  Janice’s passion was spending time with her family and friends.  She loved to tell people about Jesus.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Cindy Prince and husband, Tommy; her grandchildren, Chris Prince (Chasity), Daniel Prince (Angela), Brandon Prince, Matthew Prince and fiancée, Kacie; her great-grandchildren, Skyler Prince (Kassie), Justin “Bubba” Davis, Austin Davis, and McKenzie Prince; her great great-grandchildren, Hudson Wallace, Valerie Prince and Gatlin Prince; her brother, William Rodger Bottoms; her sisters, Brenda B. Mott and Wanda Carpenter; Tonya Prince, Greg Prince and family, and extended family.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Janice’s life will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Burial will follow the service at Williams Family Cemetery on Floods Store Road in Rocky Mount.  Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
