James W. Owens

James "Buddy" W. Owens, 70, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 19, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family received friends Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Mr. Owens was born January 24, 1945 in Brundridge, AL son of the late Brantley Owens and Jessie Jordan Rogers. He worked in Sales at Aflac. Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Celeste "CJ" Owens, daughters, Lauren Copes (Deidre Bohannon) of West Point, GA, Kami Dykes (Tony) and Chera Riles (Brad) all of Columbus, GA, son, Ashley Owens, sisters, Betty Howard (Ronnie) and Janice Matthews (Mike) all of Smiths, AL, six grandchildren, Matt Copes, Julia Copes, Shea Owens, Brea Grafals and Turner and Cooper Riles, and three great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Rocky Mount, NC and McMullen Funeral Home, Columbus, GA.
