Jacquelyn Ward Skinner Medley

June 17, 1931 ~ December 6, 2018

ROCKY MOUNT - Heaven's Glory ushered in a beloved mother, mother-in-law, "Granki", sister, aunt and friend on December 6th, 2018. Jacquelyn Ward Skinner Medley was born on June 17, 1931 in Aventon, NC. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leland Skinner. Jackie was preceded by her husband William "Billy" Jennings Medley, beloved brother "JL" Skinner and survived by dear sister and best friend Peggy Skinner Rose. Jackie was a true image bearer of Christ and a beacon of light and hope for all who knew and loved her. She always had an encouraging word and demonstrated steadfast love. Referred to as a Birthday Angel to so many, Jackie was known to send personal cards and phone calls only to brighten someone's day. She was a true prayer warrior for anyone in need and always a faithful servant of her King. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, Jackie had worked for Dr. H.B. Grant's pediatrician's office until her and her husband, Billy, founded Transpo Gas Services in Rocky Mount. Her family finds great comfort and peace in knowing with all certainty that she is in the Presence of her Jesus, greeting her with "Job well done good and faithful servant!" Jackie leaves behind her cherished sons: Bryan, Tony and Britt and their wives, Sandy, Dona, and Paula. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Brandi, Miranda, Brittini, Carson, Gary, Angie, and Christy; and was blessed with nine great grandchildren: Dylan, Jonathon, Ashley, Lauren, Melayna, Claire, Coheen, Adalyn, and Jackson. Jackie will be greatly missed but her legacy of faith will certainly carry on for many generations to come. 4. What a beautiful woman and person, Mrs. Medley was. I am very sorry to read of your loss. With her accomplishments, her love and joys, she was an amazing woman. I won’t pretend to know what you’re going through, but what has helped me deal with the loss of those I love, is turning to the Scriptures, something that has been a real source of comfort. One Scripture that gives me hope is, Rev. 213, 4, which says Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. The Bible gives us hope that one day our dead loved ones will come back to life. I hope that this verse will also comfort you, and I hope you and your family can get through this difficult time. Please accept my condolences for the loss of your beloved mother, grandma and friend. Sincerely, Meryl, jw.org – [emailprotected]

  16. When a love one leaves this earth you immediately ask what their legacy was. Everyone who knew her will remember her legacy- of indescribable compassion, prayer warrior, friend, and comforter. She lived a life that her family and friends should model. I am blessed to call her my friend, neighbor, cousin, and comforter as she recently reached out to me. Her sweet spirit and kindness will fill our hearts for all time.

  17. Our Lord has another one of his angel’s come back home. Jackie was here for so many people who was in need of a minuet of her time; maybe they were sick and had no one with them and she was company for them. She was there for anybody that needed her. My husband worked for Billy at Transpo and he had to have hip transplants. Jackie called and said her and Billy decided that until he was released to return back to work, not to worry about our gas; we were not going to give out. Jackie called every birthday also. She was one of a kind; (Beautiful Angel). Jackie you will surely be missed by all!!!!!!

  18. Jackie was the sweetest person I have ever known. She never missed a birthday even remembering people in my life whom she knew of but had never met. I felt awful when I missed hers. So was a devote follower of Jesus Christ and I know she is happy in his presence now and for all time. When she dying a Cardinal flew to the tree in my back yard. He was probably sent by Jackie as Cardinals with their red feathers were her favorite bird. He stayed with us for three days. I did not see him yesterday or today because our Angel Jackie has gone home. Our condolence to Britt , Tony and Brian and their families. Love , Your Yankee Cousin, Frances.

  19. To The Family Please except my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear loved one. Death is something that we regret. At 2 Cor 13,4 the Father tender mercies and the God of all comfort. verse 4 who comforts us in all our trials Continue to cherish those fond memories of your dear loved one while reading these scriptures. Deepest Smpathy,
