ROCKY MOUNT - Inez Russ Proctor, age 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on July 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Asa McDonald Russ, Sr. and Edna Holden Russ. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin "Runt" Morrison Proctor, Sr.; her brothers, James Russ and Donald Russ; her sisters, Dorothy Hertel and Elizabeth Gilreath; and her daughter-in-law, Deana King Proctor.
Inez is survived by her son, Calvin Morrison Proctor, Jr. of Rocky Mount; her daughters, Veda Proctor Anderson (Pete) of Rocky Mount and Lora Proctor Sykes (Stephen) of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Thomas Stephen Sykes, Jr., Kimberly Sykes Jones, and Sara Anderson Avery (Daniel); her great-grandchildren, Katherine Sykes, Stephanie Sykes, Chase Jones, Tyler Jones, Allie Avery, Emery Avery, and Lila Avery; her great great-grandson, Bentley Owens; and many nieces and nephews.
A Private Family Graveside Service to celebrate Inez will be held at Proctor Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Inez's memory to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
