Horace Dowd Cotton

Horace Dowd Cotton, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. He was born on July 14, 1926 to the late Patrick Henry Cotton and Frances Bessada Cotton. He was predeceased in death by four sisters, two brothers and a grandson, Joshua Cotton. Dowd retired in 1988 as a Maintenance Supervisor for Dinner Bell Foods. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Rosa Belle Vester Cotton of Rocky Mount; daughter, Jan Cotton of Rocky Mount; sons, Douglas Cotton and wife Lisa of Rocky Mount; Russell Cotton and wife Karen of Red Oak; and Philip Cotton of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Anna Cotton, Jordan Cotton, Elizabeth Cotton, Rachel Cotton and Patrick Cotton; and great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Emma and Gavin. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Rev. Jerry Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 11:00 am prior to the service at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
