Mr. Larsen also served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was a Green Beret assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group A-Team and served as a parachute rigger. He was a longtime member of Shenandoah Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and an active member of the West Mount Ruritan Club for many years. Known for his love of the outdoors, Harry especially enjoyed camping, golfing and saltwater fishing.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I spent as much time with Patsy and Harry as I did at home. I met Harry when Candy and I became best friends in Girl Scouts at the age of 8. I spent most of my childhood riding my bike to their house and they always accepted me as one of their own. I remember beach trips and movies.

  2. I remember when I was a little girl how my dad would take me over to uncle Harry’s house when Rebel was still here and she would be barking at the door until she had seen me then she was over excited and uncle Harry always had me take her straight out back so she could burn off some of her energy.

  3. You were one of the best uncles a kid could ask for. You were always there for me when I needed someone, even when it came to helping me with the boys. You always checked in on me and my family and asked about us, and I’ll never forget that. I love you Uncle Harry and I’ll miss you! Make sure you save some fishing for the rest of us in heaven!

  4. Patsy, to you & your family, I offer my deepest condolences on the loss of your husband. You were a very young woman when you married & I know it will be so difficult being without him. May all of the wonderful memories that you have with him bring you comfort in the days & weeks ahead. From the old neighborhood, Melissa Weaver

  5. Uncle Harry,
I’ll always remember the few times we spent fishing together when I was a kid—those peaceful, happy moments left a lasting impression on me. As I grew older, life and military service took me in different directions, and I regret that we didn’t have more time to reconnect. We shared common ground—our military service and the health challenges that came with it—and I often wished there had been more opportunity during my career and recent retirement to build on that bond. Rest well, and thank you for the memories and the example you set.

  6. To my loving brother, Lord how Miss you, Patsy, I love you dearly, thank you for loving my brother.

  7. Dear Patsy,Stewart & Candy & Family
Our heart are with you all
In this difficult time Harry’s passing
May God bless you with sympathy, love and prayer.
