Gwendolyn "Gwen" Yvonne Nash Chase

ROCKY MOUNT – Gwendolyn “Gwen” Yvonne Nash Chase, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Born in Wake County, NC on October 2, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Roger Franklin Nash. She was also preceded in death by her aunt, Georgia Utley.

A woman of great faith, Gwen was a long-time member of Englewood Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crafting and working in her garden. Most recently, Gwen especially enjoyed watching classic game shows on television such as Jeopardy and Classic Concentration. A devoted and loving mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and dear friend to many, Gwen will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Gwen is survived by her daughter, Meredith Narron (John); her son, Christian Chase; her mother, Sylvia Anne Dubree Nash; her brother, Kenneth “Ken” Carlton Nash (Debbie); her uncle, James Dubree; her nephews, Drew Nash (Katelyn), Jared Nash (Lauren), Graham Nash, and Landon Nash; her great niece, Rosalie Nash; her great-nephews, Rylan, and Jordan Nash; her two cats, Reese and Twix; and several extended family members and dearest friends.

A Celebration of Life Service to celebrate Gwen’s life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
