Gail Brown Williams

ROCKY MOUNT - Gail Brown Williams, age 71, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 13, 2020. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on September 30, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Brown and Dehurse Ramsey Brown. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary "Sissy" Brown Tharrington and her husband, Roy, Jr.; her in-laws, JT and Inez Williams. Gail was a longtime member of Parkwood Baptist Church. A woman of great faith, she loved her church and church family. Gail lived a life that reflected the love of Jesus to the world. She had a servant's heart, always taking care of her family and friends when in need, even if it was just her presence in the background. Gail was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her, but her loving spirit will never be forgotten as she was everything to her family. Gail leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband of 52 years, Joe Williams, of Rocky Mount; son, Ashley Williams and his wife, Tammy. She is also survived by her special grandchildren, Ty and Landis Williams, all of Raleigh; special friends, Shirley Edmondson and Linda Pridgen, but everyone was special to her. A Graveside Service to celebrate Gail's Life will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Pineview Cemetery with Pastor John Scott officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gail's memory to Parkwood Baptist Church, 1731 Hunter Hill Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.   1. Joe and family, I was in high school with Gail, you and Frank played softballl, our Franki and your Ashley played ball together. We known each other for many years. You are all very special to us. Gail was a great lady and I thought a lot of her. It breaks my heart to lose her. We pray, God holds you in his arms in the days to come.. The Joyner Family.

  6. Joe and Ashley, We are so saddened to hear about the sudden passing of sweet Gail. I began working with her, at Peoples Bank, Rocky Mount, in 1981. I’ve never met a sweeter, kinder person ever. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  9. Joe and Ashley. words can not express the hurt and sadness we fill for you. On Sunday mornings we always looked forward to the big hugs and sweet smile we exchanged. You are blessed to have had such a wonderful wife and mother. She was beautiful inside and out. Remembering you in our thoughts and prayers.

  10. Joe, I was so shocked when my sister Dolly told me about the passing of Shirley. I will always remember her beautiful smile and her loving spirit. She was one of a kind. The last time I saw Shirley, she Linda and Shirley came in Belk. We all got to laughing and cutting up. Shirley could light up the darkest room or cloudy date with her loving charm. God wanted a new angel and he certainly got one with Shirley. You are certainly in my prayers. May God give you strength now and the days ahead.

  14. Joe,,Ashley and family I just heard this. I am so sorry . She was a wonderful friend to Bonnie and me. We had so much fun growing up . We would stay up all night at sleepovers and we rode to school together for a long time. She had a great personality and was such a loving and caring person ,she will be missed by all of us.
