Floyd C. Shearin

Rocky Mount - Floyd C. Shearin, age 79, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017. Born in Nash County, NC on May 22, 1937, he was the son of the late Walter E. Shearin and Katie H. Shearin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Susie Brake Shearin; and brother, Buddy Shearin. Floyd leaves behind to cherish his memory, four sons, Carl Shearin (JoAnn); Billy Shearin; Phillip Shearin; Warren Shearin; and Brad Pittman. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brothers, Larry Shearin (Frances); Sam Shearin, Roger Shearin (Sandra); and Troy Shearin (Ann); sisters, Charlotte Keen (Richard); Debbie Arnold (Phil); and Sue Crickmore; sister-in-law, Frances Shearin and special friend, Joan Joyner. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Brake Family Cemetery on Cokey Road with the Rev. Stan Brown officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. To the entire Shearin family,I Queen Batts as a former neighbor of both Mr. & Mrs Shearin wish to express my heartfelt sympathy to you.I talked with Mr. Shearin about two weeks ago when he in the hospital as he was waiting to be transferred to another facility.Circumstances have prevented my visiting with you today as well as tomorrow.I had the pleasure of meeting the them while attending the Church across the street from their home.
