When someone you love receives a cancer diagnosis you always know this day will come, but, as we are all painfully aware, this does not make the reality any less painful. It has taken a couple of days for me to absorb this news. I’m still disbelieving and my heart is broken. She was such a sweet, caring, smart and gentle person. She loved me and I loved her in that special way life long friends do. While I will always cherish the special memories of our times together, that spans decades of my life, from elementary school until today, I will miss Elaine terribly.
