Rocky Mount - Edie Louise Harrington, age 82, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Born in Nash County, NC on May 17, 1933, she was the daughter of the late David Nickloas Carroll and Gladys Smith Carroll. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Frances Taylor; and brothers, David Carroll; Russell Carroll; and Haywood Carroll. Edie was an interior designer with JC Penneys in Sacramento, CA until she retired in 2010 and moved back home to be with family and friends, but continued to work with Penneys. Edie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her two sons, George Lewis and his wife, Vanessa, of Rocky Mount; and Barry Craig and his wife, Tatiana, of Indianapolis, IN; and one daughter, Shelia Lewis of Sacramento, CA. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a sister in law, Rose Carroll and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Salvation Army Church, 420 Paul Street, Rocky Mount. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 420 Paul Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27803. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services, 1130 N.   1. Hi my name is Kayla and I am a local bible teacher. I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. There is a very comforting scripture at Isaiah 258. It says that soon Jehovah will swallow up death forever and that he will wipe away all of the tears. So we can all look forward to a time when death will be no more. I hope that this scripture can bring some true comfort during these difficult times.
