Nashville - Connie Lynn Saffell Lafferty, age 46, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015. Born in Great Lakes, IL on April 1, 1969, she was the daughter of the late Gary D. Saffell and Carol Dutkiewicz Saffell.
Connie was a woman of strong will and determination. She always recognized the best in every one she knew and loved and she did it so outwardly that everybody loved her for it. Never passing an opportunity to spend time with family, she especially enjoyed time spent enjoying the water at Lake Gaston and by having those she loved around her. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Connie cherished her grandchildren as they meant the world to her. Her strong will in life was not only evident in her everyday activities, but even more so when it came to Tar Heel Basketball which nobody could come in between. As an employee of ALLRED Mechanical Services for many years, her determination to help her customers and coworkers was a shining light for all. Connie with her generous heart will be dearly missed, but will never be forgotten.
Connie leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Bryan Lafferty of Nashville; her son Matthew and his wife Heather; her four daughters, Teri, Ericka, Jessica and Casey; and by her five grandchildren, Ava, Mariah, Alexis, Jaeden and Cheyanne. She is also survived by two sisters, Pattie Barnette and Dani Saffell; her brother Gary Saffell and his wife Michelle; two brother-in-laws, Kevin Lafferty and his wife Tammy and Danny Lafferty; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

My heart goes out to the Lafferty family and to Connie’s AMS family. She showed us all how to live and love unconditionally. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know this amazing woman. Leigh Allred Wilkinson New Bern, NC
My big sister. There are too many memories that I truly cherish to share here. From the knock down drag out fights over Barbies to the late night card game nights. One of my favorite memories is when we had to share a bedroom as children and used to tell me countless bedtime stories. Over and over the same stories. I will never be able to thank you for all the times I came to you to confide and I was never once met with judgement only a shoulder and kind words. You are so irreplaceable. I have been so very blessed to witness your battle with cancer and the grace you fought it with. You are truly an inspiration to those of us left behind. I am so very proud to call you my big sister. Give Mom and Dad, Nana and Pop Pop kisses and hugs for me. Please watch us over us all. I love you.
My condolences go out to all the family.
