Clifton Reginald "Reggie" Wester

ROCKY MOUNT – Clifton Reginald “Reggie” Wester, age 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 26, 2026.  Born in Edgecombe County, NC on April 2, 1940, he was the son of the late Thomas Clifton “Cliff” Wester and Ossie Currin Wester.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Randall “Blake” Wester; and his brother, Alfred Lane “Al” Wester, Sr.

Reggie was employed by CSX Railroad for 25 years and retired as a mechanical supervisor.  During that time, and afterward, he operated a heavy equipment construction company and planned and developed several subdivisions.

Reggie leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 37 years, Jane Webb Wester of Rocky Mount; his children, D. Brent Wester (Leighann) of Spring Hope, Robin Wester Powell (Steve) of Rocky Mount, and Regina Wester Johnson (J. R.) of Rocky Mount; his stepson, Robert “Boot” Lewis, Jr. (Toni) of Tarboro; his grandchildren, Josh Wester (McCaffity), Matthew Wester (Lauren), Katie Wester, Austin Wester (Alyssa), Morgan Moss (Benton), Jordan Powell (Morgan), Justin Powell (Kylie Grace), Caroline Powell, John Johnson (Anna), Jared Johnson (Kelsee), Jason Johnson (Charisma), and Rebecca Johnson; his step-grandchildren, Mallori Lewis Anderson (Sammy), Nikki Fortner, and Geoffrey Benedetto; his great-grandchildren, Jackson, Ellie and Molly James Wester, Knox, Penn, Dawes, and Valleigh Wester, Merin, Maura and McAuley Moss, William and Emily Powell, Ada Gray and Jay Johnson; his step great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Brilen, Jenkins, Vin, Lewis and Ida May Anderson, Lily Fortner and Gavin Benedetto; his sisters-in law, Sandra Greene Wester, Betty Twiddy, Becky Tetterton, and Carol Smith; his brothers-in-law, Bill Webb, Ronnie Webb, Danny Webb, Randy Walston, and Ricky Walston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Reggie’s life will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Sammy Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the staff at Nash Hospice for their dedicated service in caring for Reggie.
