Clarence Eugene Christman

ROCKY MOUNT – Clarence Eugene Christman “Grandpa”, age 76, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 7, 2025.  Born in Lancaster, PA on November 16, 1949, he was the son of the late Carl and Lois Christman.  He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Trace Elijah Christman.

Clarence had a lot of stories to tell about all his escapades throughout his life.  He loved fishing and racing and was very knowledgeable about anything mechanical.  Clarence loved to create projects out of wood and metal.  His boys would often call and say, “Daddy, I need this.”, and he would say, “Let me see if I can make it first.”  And he never failed to make it.  He was one that anyone could call upon and he would be there.  Clarence was a faithful member of Englewood Assembly of God church.  You would see him any given day riding his Kabota around the neighborhood checking on his neighbors and telling stories.  He loved to go back to the old home place in Troupsburg, NY where he would sit and talk to family and friends about the ‘Good Old Days’.  Clarence brought so much love and joy to all the people that knew him.  He was full of pranks and laughter.  Our hearts are saddened for our loss but rejoice in his gain.  A gain of eternal life in Heaven because he believed in Jesus.

Clarence leaves a lifetime of memories for his beloved family including his wife of 55 years, Carol Prutsman Christman; his sons, Craig (Heather) of Rocky Mount and Chet (Amanda) of Nashville; his adored grandsons, CJ (Alyssa), Trace, Caleb, and Henry; he was so excited about his two great-grandchildren, Chase and Madelyn; his sister, Helen Buckwalter (Dan) of Homer, AK; his brother, Curt (Delite) of Lowville, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Clarence’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Gerry Blood officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home until 1:00 PM.
