Billy Dean Bulluck, Sr., age 71, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Born in Nash County on August 15, 1943, he was the son of the late Plez Otis Bulluck and Lucy Loretta Davis. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Beverly Ann Leggett Bulluck and his brother, Otis Ray Bulluck.
From his upbringing on the family farm until his retirement, Billy had the love of the land embedded in his heart only a true outdoorsman can know. From raising livestock to show and sell at 4-H during his younger years, to his highly sought out formula for curing of tobacco, his appreciation for God's land was well known and respected. Elm and Oak Farm, also known as Guy Lawrence Farm, was where his heart was and his caring nature was evident by his prized cattle. When he was not farming, staying true to the outdoorsman title, he could be found perfecting his other skills for which he was greatly known for. Billy was a legendary bass fisherman, attending tournaments and taking away the prizes making many other fishermen envious of his skills and talent. And when the water was too cold to fish, you could find him in his stand as he was a well-known hunter. Furthering his sportsman and competitive nature, "Barefoot Billy" as he was nicknamed, was the circle of great times and fond memories on the area golf courses. Further exemplifying his character, Billy also served 6 years in the North Carolina Army National Guard.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Dean Bulluck and his spouse, Onix Terevinto, of Battleboro, NC; brother, Jerry Bulluck and his spouse, Margaret, of Battleboro, NC; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Having never met a stranger, Billy leaves behind many close friends who will all miss having him around both for his companionship and his knowledge.
