Betsy Lockamy Parker, age 82, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Born in Plymouth NC, on May 12, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Vance Millard Lockamy and Katherine Felton Lockamy. She was also predeceased by her brother, Vance M. Lockamy Jr.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 63 years, Velma Fess Parker; daughters, Eleanor Gwendolyn Parker, Sharon Parker Taylor and husband Gary; son, Walter Vance Parker; six grandchildren, Carrie Leigh Taylor, Walter Corbett Parker, Hunter Vance Parker, Graham Martin Taylor, Lauren Katherine Parker and William Tyler Parker; and two great-grandsons, Austin and Wyatt Wood.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:30pm to 7:30pm Friday, June 6, 2014 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 8:00pm in the funeral home chapel. A committal service will be at 10:00am Saturday morning at Whitakers Cemetery.
