Anderson Berkley “Sonny” Holt

Enfield - Anderson Berkley "Sonny" Holt, age 80, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015. Born in Richmond, VA on April 15, 1935, he was the son of the late Anderson Berkley Holt, Jr. and Audrey Inez Carter Holt. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Scruggs Holt; his daughter, Sonnie Anne Holt; his sister, Carol Holt Alford and his brother, Harold "Tukey" Carter Holt. Sonny was the owner of Scrugg's Poultry, Inc. in 1992 and he also was the service manager for Davenport Motor, Company for over 20 years. He had a loving spirit that was passed down through his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will miss him deeply but will always have the love he showed to them in their hearts forever. Sonny leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Pamela Holt Batts and her husband, Robbie, of Enfield; Angela Holt Janney and her husband, Terry, of Durham; and his son, William Anderson "Bucky" Holt and his wife, Donna, of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shane Holt and his wife, Mary Ellen; Andy Batts and his wife, Kelly; Brandon Holt and his wife, Misty; Audrey Friedrich and her husband, Jason; Timothy Batts and his wife, Misty; Terry Janney and his wife, Chrissy; and Jennifer Janney and her partner, Amanda; and his great-grandchildren, Bishop Holt, Jason Friedrich, Alexandra Holt, Adam Friedrich, Timothy Batts, Joey Batts, Ashley Friedrich, Chase McDaniel, Landyn Holt; Will Batts, Jonathan Batts and Brooklyn Noelle Janney, due in two weeks. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Alvin Davis officiating. A private committal will follow the service. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
