Allison Ann Cole Angott

November 29, 1961 ~ August 19, 2025

Born in: Washington County, PA
Resided in: Nashville, NC

Nashville – Allison Ann Cole Angott, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.  Born in Washington County, PA on November 29, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Albert Wayne Cole and Helen Louise McCracken Cole.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Alan Cole.

A dedicated and caring family physician, Allison began her medical career by serving in the United States Air Force.  She was ultimately in practice for forty years, caring for patients in Alabama, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and North Carolina.  She was passionate about community health, her faith in Jesus Christ, and the many hobbies in which she found joy: cooking, gardening, star-gazing with her husband, singing, reading, many art mediums, hiking, and being in nature.  She loved animals and enjoyed raising alpacas and chickens for two decades in Pennsylvania.  Perhaps her greatest strength was in her ability to dream with abandon while also nurturing a deep and genuine gratitude for every blessing.

She was dearly loved and respected by all who knew her, as she was warm and kind-hearted, quick to laugh and even more so to forgive.  She truly lived out the virtues of 1 Corinthians 13, approaching her family, friends, and community with a servant heart, and a heart full of love.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many.  Allison will be deeply missed and never forgotten.  Allison is survived by her husband and best friend, Richard A. Angott; her daughters, Bethany Kenyon (Sam), Leah Cook (Daniel), and Moriah Angott; her sister, Joanna Bates (Michael); her brother, Eric Cole; and niece, Shannon Cole, nephews, Devon Cole and Cameron Bates, extended family members, and dear friends.  Allison was delighted to be a Memaw to her precious grands: Eli, Olivia, Otto, Brandon, and Corinne.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Information to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Samaritans Purse, the ASPCA, or a community health initiative in your area.

Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.  You may share memories and condolences with the family by visiting www.wheelerwoodlief.com.

Guestbook

  1. My deepest condolences to the family and close friends. Allison was one of a kind, she was special. I had the pleasure and honor of working with her for a short time on establishing community health initiatives before her health declined. Something she was very passionate about. I admired her intelligence, kindness, empathy, and genuine concern for her patients and others. Allison was passionate about the health and well-being of her entire community. The medical community, and our entire community was a better place because of her. I hope her legacy lives on through her colleagues, family, and friends.

To her family and close friends: May you find comfort in the wonderful memories she left you. I will keep you all in my prayers, and pray for your healing and peace.

To everyone: Spread kindness, just as she did.
