We knew Allen through his association with Ward’s Appliance. He was a top notch appliance repairman. If Allen couldn’t fix it, nobody could! He was a nice guy who treated his customers like friends. He will be truly missed. Bobby and Nancy Ellis
Goodbye Big Al My dear friend it would take a book to list all the good times we had We met the first time for 9 holes of golf arranged by Blair and Chad The friendship we shared was forged on that summer day As we all tried to keep the ball in the fairway Soon we introduced each other to some special friends And over the years we spent many fun weekends You introduced Andy, Wayne and Jimmy, I introduced Ronnie and Em It was always a blast hanging out with them You were a Master appliance tech, Auto mechanic and cook Allen when friends called on you you did whatever it took Trey once ask Does Al fix it all My answer, Yep all it takes is a phone call Golf, cooking, baseball trips, beach, 33 Oyster bar we did it all together Even when it was stormy weather I end with this thought A friendship like ours cannot be bought My wish today is for Blair and Chad May they always share the same friendship we had Love Macarena

THIS MAKES ME SO SAD. ALLEN YOU WILL BE MISSED. MY LOVE TO THE FAMILY AS THEY DEAL WITH THIS LOSS. GLENDA, MY HEART BREAKS FOR YOU AND YOUR PRECIOUS CHILDREN. I KNOW HE ADORED HIS FAMILY. I WILL ALWAYS CHERISH THE TIMES WE SHARED AT THE FAMILY REUNIONS AND GREAT FOOD WE SHARED THAT HE ALWAYS HAD A HAND IN PREPARING. I WILL MISS YOU. GODSPEED SWEET MAN. YOLANDA MICKLEM
I love you, Allen, and I will miss you until I draw my last breath. You have ALWAYS been there for me and now I feel so lost. It does bring me comfort to read all the wonderful comments and to know you had so many friends and touched so many lives. God blessed me with the best brother in the world. My life will never be the same. I am so proud to be your sister. Vickie
Allen, Vickie and I played together as kids. I remember how much he loved to play with his trucks and how much he loved his sister. Allen was a blessing and simply the best person. He fixed everything I broke and as with so many others, was wonderful when I called him to help me. May God hold his family and each of us every closer in this loss. We were blessed to know Allen and share a part of this life with him. My sincere condolences to his family. Thank you for sharing Allen with all of us. Kim Wood
This news just breaks my heart. Someone in an earlier post said if Al couldn’t fix it, no one could, and that is the truth. I can’t count the number of times he saved me. A phone call to him, and shortly he would appear to fix whatever appliance issue I had. He was a good man, and will surely be missed. Rest in Peace. My thoughts and prayers to his family. Debi Asbell
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Alford family.
Our sincere condolences to the Alford family. We love you all and are here for each of you. Sam & Loretta R.
I totally agree with Mack (Buddy) Alligood. It would definitely take a book to list all the great things about Allen (Big Al). Who knew that back in 1999 when Gail and hired this young kid to help with our business that it would lead to a long lasting friendship with Allen. Thanks to Blair and Mack for introducing Allen to our family. He has always been a wonderful individual. He was always there if Gail or I needed help with an appliance, auto, or whatever. He could fix absolutely anything. Allen would always tease me asking if Gail was working from home and would respond be telling him to make sure that he leaves a little money on the table. My nickname from Allen was Runny. Every time I would call him, he would say what’s up Runny. Allen loved his family so much. Glenda was so special to him. He would always tell me that he didn’t know what he would have ever done without her. Allen, you were a kind, loving, humerous, golf playing, pig and chicken cooking man. I am very proud and privileged to have been able to call you a TRUE FRIEND and you will be forever missed , but not forgotten by all. Love you, Ronnie Ezzell (Runny)

My condolences to the Alford family. I have know Allen since working with Bob’s Appliance for the last 25 years. He was a great guy and will be missed very much. I am so sorry we could not make the service. With greatest sympathy, Bobby & Teresa Wheeler
Hi my name is Kayla and I am a local bible teacher. I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. There is a very comforting scripture at Isaiah 258. It says that soon Jehovah will swallow up death forever and that he will wipe away all of the tears. So we can all look forward to a time when death will be no more. I hope that this scripture can bring some true comfort during these difficult times.
My prayers go out to Allen’s family. He was a very dedicated worker and family man. He was always very helpful whenever I called Ward’s and talked with him and always available to fix my appliances. He will be missed by so many people. Carol Lancaster, Rocky Mount, NC
