  1. I had the pleasure of knowing Albert Thomas as my Father-in-Law for a little over 20 years. I’ve continued my relationship with him from there. He was so good to me throughout these years, and he truly like a father to me. I have always felt the love and appreciation that he had in his heart for me even after I moved back to my hometown, Florence, SC. I would always go visit with him and Phyllis when I would come to visit my kids, Joshua Thomas and Taylor Thomas. I always felt welcomed. Albert had a lot of advice for me through out the years. Most of the time, I listened and some of the times, I so wished that I had because 9 times out of 10, he was so right. He was the hardest working man that I’ve ever known. He loved his garden and flowers. No matter what, he always mad time for his family. He would always have a story to tell about something. He could talk for hours if you would listen, which I usually did, (smiling) I will so miss him on my future visits to see my kids. It surely won’t be the same without him. I know without a doubt that he is looking down on all of us smiling. And if heaven has a garden or flowers, you can rest assured that this is where you will find Albert Thomas… RIP until we meet again Albert. I will always love & remember you. Sincerely, Nancy B Stroup mom of Joshua & Taylor Thomas

  2. Q: What will you never forget about Albert?

A: I’ll always treasure our Christmas Eve’s together when Courtlon & I would go over when our 2 kids, Joshua & Taylor were small. It was a tradition to go over after our dinner. Courtlon and Albert would make homemade chicken salad. It was a yearly tradition for them. Myrtle would make coffee and have some type of delicious dessert. When Joshua got old enough, he joined in with Albert & his dad, Courtlon. I would always beg them to make me some without the celery. Albert would always do that for me. He was an amazing father & grandpa & friend. We all will surely miss him. Love you always Albert. Your forever daughter-in-law in my heart. Love always, Nancy Stroup ❤️

  3. Prayers for the family. Myrttle and Albert were the best neighbors. Albert was a caring person. So proud of his garden. Kathy Hardy

  4. Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Albert?

A: My Uncle Albert was one of a kind. I waited for the moment when me and my family would be able to go to North Carolina. I would always have to go to Aunt Myrtle and Uncle Albert’s house to see my favorite cousins. From the moment I got there Uncle Albert was always showing me things and driving me and Amy crazy! He was always so full of information. As I grew up I had a different view of Uncle Albert his love of his yard and flowers I shared that love. I remember the time he took me on an adventure walk I knew every single tree, weed, and flower along the way. Uncle Albert was kind, giving and always willing to tell a great story! Always in my heart.
