John 14: 1-2 (KJV) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
NASHVILLE – Trace Elijah Christman “Uncle T”, age 19, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was born in Pitt County, NC on November 3, 2004.
Trace graduated in 2023 from Southern Nash Senior High School where he was an active member of the FFA and the CTE programs. His faith in God, hard work ethics and dedication to continuous learning helped him as he began working in the work program at school. It was here he worked for Edward’s Crane for one year before obtaining a position with the City of Rocky Mount before graduating high school. Trace loved horses (always our cowboy), fishing, and working with his hands; building anything from metal trinkets, boot stands, and saddle racks, to Lego roses/flowers for his Mama. His heart can be seen in all the gifts he gave. He had a talent and love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing any chance he could, whether it be at home or church, his music could fill your heart. Trace was a faithful and devoted member of Christ’s Independent Baptist Church where he was raised for 19 years. It was here he grew in knowledge of the Lord and began to teach lessons on Wednesday nights. Trace brought so much love and joy to our lives, church, and all those around him; always with pranks of one kind or another and full of laughter. Our hearts are saddened for our loss but rejoice in his gain. A gain of an eternal life that can be shared with him if we only believe in Jesus.
Psalm 63:1 (KJV) O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is:

Trace was more than a friend, more like a brother. He lit up any room he walked in. He will be more than missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. I never had the opportunity to meet Trace but I know CJ and his mom and Grandpa, and they are all class and endearing people so I know he was. May God’s grace and mercy be with you all during this time and the lifetime ahead. ❤️
Sending my condolences and sincere prayers to/for everyone impacted by this devastating loss.

Trace was a very nice young man. He had a love for people and especially the elderly. He always treated my mom like his grandmother. A lot of times teenagers have attitudes but I did not see that with him. He will truly be missed and I pray peace and comfort for his family
With deepest sympathy,
I am very sorry for your loss. My prayers for peace, comfort, and strength when you need them most only God can give.
I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family
Trace was, is and always will be so very special to me. He started coming to our church when he was very young. I’m not sure how old he and his brother CJ were when they did the most unselfish and kind gesture. My husband, Joe had had several strokes but he was still able to come to church with me some. CJ and Trace were given money for Christmas with one stipulation, that they share part of the money with someone they thought might need it. They came up to me after church one night and handed me a Christmas card. Inside the card was $50.00. They said when they were told to share with someone the first people they thought of were Joe and me. That spoke volumes to my heart and both boys gained a lot of respect and love from me. It was a kind gesture that I shall never forget.
I already had fallen in love with them but that made them so much more special. I could tell that they had been raised right and had a good head on their shoulders at an early age. Trace always had a smile on his face and a kind word. He and his family seem like part of my family. I am so sorry that I have been sick and then had surgery so that I could not be there with them to show my support and love but they are all in my prayers. Trace, you will be sorely missed but we will see you again.
With all my love,
Mrs. Carolyn Currin

To Chet and Amanda, Clarence and Carol, and your beautiful family:
We are so very sad to read of your loss. We were unaware of it until the day after the services. Our prayers are with you during this time. Though we did not know your precious Trace, it was a beautiful story in photos that we have viewed today. His years were short by earthly standards, but obviously his impact was larger than many who live multiple decades. Most precious is your blessed assurance that you will see him again. Jackie & Carolyn Vick, Kelly, Brandon, & Jonathan (neighbors from long ago)
John 16:33
My heart goes out to all of the family. It is a devastating loss of a loved one.
The faculty/staff of Nash Community College express their deepest sympathies for your loss. We are honored to have participated in Trace’s education.
