Carmen Margarita Dawes Parham

April 18, 1962 ~ July 2, 2025

Born in: Stuttgart, Germany
Resided in: Rocky Mount, NC

ROCKY MOUNT – Carmen Margarita Dawes Parham, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.  Born in Stuttgart, Germany on April 18, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Helga Elizabeth Kaisar Dawes.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Dawes.

Carmen was a woman with the most beautiful heart—kind, selfless, and full of love for everyone around her.  For over 20 years, she faithfully managed EP Mart in Rocky Mount, becoming a trusted and familiar face to so many in the community.  She had a deep love for animals, caring for any creature in need, though her cats were especially dear to her.  Above all, Carmen adored her family and cherished every moment with her precious grandbabies.  Recently, she made the decision to retire so she could focus on her health and spend more time with those she loved most while continuing her courageous fight against cancer.  Her passing comes as a heartbreaking and unexpected loss to all who knew and loved her.

Carmen is survived by her husband of 31 years, Percy Lee Parham; her daughters, Amanda Cary Bunn and husband, Jesse, Brandy Parham and fiancé, Zach Lobb, Kayla Parham, and Monica Dawes; her grandchildren, Joshua Adkins, Bryson Dawes, Leslie Kessler, Tabatha Bunn, Jayden Lobb, and Guy Bunn; her sisters, Kimberly Booth and Rhonda King; and many nieces and nephews.

A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.  You may share memories and condolences with the family by visiting www.wheelerwoodlief.com.

  1. You will be missed Aunt Carmen fly high with Daddy Grandma and Aunt Patty until we meet again 💜

  2. Oh Carmen, I have missed you at EP Mart. I had no idea you were sick; I thought you had just moved to another position within EP Mart. I know you will rest in peace now that you have your new body and you are with the Lord.

To Carmen’s family, we are very sorry for your loss. My husband and I have shopped at EP Mart since its opening many years ago. Carmen was always a bright and friendly face to see when checking out. We are truly sorry her retirement and time with her family was cut short, but as a cancer survivor, I find peace in knowing she is not suffering anymore. Cancer is a life changing ordeal, then adding chemo and all of the problems that can bring is really a war within your body.

My prayers are for God to give you all peace, comfort, and strength when you need them most only He can give. Please lean on Him and He will bring you all through this. Life is forever changed but one day we will all meet again.

    Take care and God bless.
    Cheryl Landin
    A Faithful EP Mart Customer

  3. Father God gained an amazing angel for what seems to have been too soon. Yet you may be gone home to heaven you’ll forever remain in our hearts down here on earth till we meet at heavens gate.
