PINETOPS – Arthur “Art” Joseph Eisler, Jr., age 92, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025.  Born in Philadelphia County, PA on January 2, 1933, he was the son of the late Arthur Joseph Eisler, Sr. and Anna Lucy Glowka Eisler.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Dorothy “Dot” Powell Eisler; brother, Joe Eisler.

A man of strong convictions and a devoted leader, Art was the proud patriarch of his family and a steadfast example of dedication and service. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy and later devoted 29 years to Burlington Industries, where he spent the latter part of his career as a respected plant manager. Known for his love of golf, fishing, and traveling, Art found joy in the simple pleasures of life and the beauty of God’s creation. Never afraid to speak his mind, he was deeply opinionated, yet more often than not, he was right. His wisdom, strength, and unwavering presence left an indelible mark on all who knew and loved him.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. My father worked at Burlington Industries for long time and I remember him speaking of “His wonderful plant manager”. He would say what a great man and enjoyed talking to him every morning and that he was a great person!!
    Frank Newsome’s family

  2. I will miss you my dear friend until we meet again in the kingdom. You were instrumental in my recovery from an aorta aneurysm rupture in 2016 that I miraculously recovered from. Your help, prayers, encouragement and many visits encouraged me to live a holy life.

  3. Art and Dot lived just a few doors down from us but were much more than neighbors! They ended up being the Rocky Mount set of grandparents to our 4 kids ! Not only was their ongoing kindness manifested in many practical ways – but – all of our kids became accomplished swimmers and they learned as young waterbugs in their backyard pool! Although the “ book “ entitled “ Art and DotEisler “ has now had final pages written – it is the kind of book that you read over and over again cherishing the moments contained within its pages – ones that will be remembered by my family !

  4. As our neighbors when our children were little, Art and Dot invited us to cookouts and swimming in their backyard pool. They also often invited just our kids over to their house to give me a much needed break from mothering duties.
I have memories of Art flipping burgers while the kids were learning to swim in their pool. He also dressed up as Santa and gave our kids much delight with his appearance at Christmas. He also baked amazing sticky buns which we would eagerly devour. Since we had no other family in town, we called Art and Dot the “Rocky Mount grandparents” and they served in that capacity well!
Art gave of himself to others that crossed his path and will be remembered by our whole family with much fondness, love, and warm memories.

  5. A great man, son, brother, husband, father and more. To me, my Uncle Artie !
    Sending hugs to all.
    Anne

  6. I worked with Art for many years at O’Reilly’s!! Even when he could have sat back at home, ho chose to work. He was a great work associate and a very nice man!!!

  7. My father, Billy Boone, worked for Art for many years at Burlington. Always had good things to say about him. I hope God will bring you comfort.
