She loved the beach especially Fernandina Beach, FL where her heart was and where she lived for many years prior to returning to NC. She was a true southern girl and loved to eat food cooked the “southern” way, there were no substitutes good enough for it. She was a fanatic about taking supplements of all kinds to try and extend her youth and life. She always said she wanted to live to be 150 years old. Condolences. Jean was truly my Sister in Christ. Sister Tillery (Marrow)
I only met Jean a couple of times. However, I went over to her house to make her breakfast one day and to make sure she took her medicine. We talked about how I had just moved from Idaho and she told me “Looks like I need to teach you how to make me oatmeal the right way, the southern way!” I laughed and learned from this wise lady and enjoyed sitting there talking to her and getting to know her that morning. Grateful to have known her, even for a short amount of time! Rest in Peace with Jesus, Jean! Until we meet again! Maybe you could have some oatmeal waiting for me!
