Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. We have truly lost one of a kind. I will always remember him kindly and with a smile at his unique humor. I am out of town and will not be able to attend the services but will be praying for peace for all who loved him. Peggy Goode Daughtridge

  2. Whenever I saw Briscoe he never failed to remind me that had he not left Nashville High in his Senior year I would never have been valedictorian, and he was right. All through school, when I made a 98 on something, he would grin and show me his 99. It was a private, but most enjoyable joke between the two of us. I shall miss him. Beverly Cooper

  3. We have lost one of the last remaining true Southern gentlemen. Briscoe possessed a wit that was very far and few between. I will always fondly remember the times I spent with him and as the as the king of Southern satire.

  4. Briscoe was always a pleasant person to be around. First time I ever spent time with him was a trip with six guys to Baltimore for a weekend of Orioles baseball. Briscoe was alot of fun to be around and a very intelligent man. He will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to the family. Bernie Tyndall

  5. I was sorry to learn of Briscoe’s passing. We grew up together in Nashville and were in the same grade until he went to military school. My husband, William Dorsey, and I used to see him occasionally when we were in Nashville and Briscoe and Luther Barbee would stop by the house. Many good memories of past beach trips, and of my driving his car in a ditch at the school grounds one night and then walking home leaving him to deal with it. I was practicicing my driving skills to get a license! I understand he was not well the last few years, but I can remember the good times. I hope you can also. Shirley Bone Beal

  6. Briscoe was our neighbor and good friend. My favorite memories of Briscoe centered around our tennis playing days at Northgreen Country Club. Briscoe always made me laugh whether he was my partner or my opponent. His baseball hat had Curmudgen embroidered on it, and I always told him that was so appropriate. He will be missed by many people. Marie and Ernest Bridgers

  7. Greg I was sorry to learn of your dad’s passing. We were away on vacation when I got the news. I hope the service went well. Know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. In Faith and Friendship, Lynn and Marty Benson
