Jasper (Jack) M. Valentine, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Hunter Hill Nursing Home, surrounded by family and staff members after an extended illness with strokes.
He was born June 10, 1931, the son of Lizzie and Joseph Valentine.
Jack worked for Carolina Building Supply for a number of years and then went into business for himself as Valentine Builders.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, James Valentine, Benjamin Valentine and Herbert Valentine.
Jack leaves behind one daughter, Tammy Valentine; sisters, Mollie Daughtridge and Earlene Daughtridge (husband, Bobby), all of Rocky Mount.
He will also be missed by his baby girl dog, "Panda".
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; his caregivers, nephew Craig Valentine, wife Joyce and great-nephew Michael William Valentine.
A service to remember Jack will be held April 25, 2013 at 4:00pm in the Mausoleum Chapel at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
