Diane Boone Holland

ELM CITY - Diane Boone Holland, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Born in Wilson County, NC on November 16, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Jasper Randolph Boone and Stella Mae Stallings Boone. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Boone. Diane retired as a receptionist with Boice Willis Cardiology. She was a dedicated member of Vaughn's Chapel Church. Diane enjoyed working outside and loved spending time with her family especially her grandson. She also loved arts and craft and enjoyed keeping up with family and friends by social media. Diane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be missed by all who knew her. Diane is survived by her husband of 49 years, Andrew "Andy" Holland; her son, Kevin Holland (Richelle) of Raleigh; her grandson, Maxwell Holland; her brothers, Bobby Boone (Ingrid) of Elm City and Phillip Boone (Glennie) of Spring Hope; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, a Celebration of Diane's Life will be announced on a later date. With regards to the scheduled Viewing on Sunday, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.   1. Diane was a lifelong friend and a beautiful beautiful soul. She loved her family with all of her heart. She will be missed. Prayers for all of you.

  2. I so enjoyed working with Diane at Boice-Willis Clinic. She was knowledgeable about her job. Heaven gained an angel!

  3. My heart is broken after losing my life long friend of 44 years. She was my best shopping buddy and beach buddy. I will never forget her and will always have her in my heart. My love and sympathy for her husband Andy and son Kevin and her most adorable grandson Max, I know they will miss her presence in their lives but will hold many of her loving memories she shared with them. I know she will be another Angel in Heaven.

  5. I am so shocked and so heartbroken to learn of the loss of Diane. Diane and I have been friends since first grade at Coopers and rekindled our friendship after many years as we both worked at Boice Willis Clinic. We have shared lots of good memories, and lots of laughter. Someone commented that Diane always had a smile and a twinkle in her eye…..and she definitely did. A very special woman. Andy, she loved all of you SO much, especially handsome Maxwell! She was SO proud of him……and of Kevin, too! Tight hugs, love, and many prayers from many friends that love you all as you navigate through this very difficult time.

  9. I am so shock at the passing of Diane. Even thou I am older, we grew up in the same community, (Sandy Cross). Diane always had smile on her face and was such a kind and caring person.   14. So sorry to hear of the passing of Diane. I worked with her for many years. She was such a pleasure to be with and so excited to retire and spend time with her beloved family. She was so proud of all of you. I am sorry that time was cut short. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones. I will cherish my memories.

  15. Andy & Kevin, I worked with Diane at Optometric Eye Care Center many, many moons ago. I looked forward to receiving her Christmas card every year and it was ALWAYS the first one we received. My husband & I were lucky enough to run into Diane at Walmart about a year ago and I so treasure the few minutes I got to share with her that day. We did kept in touch through social media and her love for you, Kevin and Handsome Maxwell was so evident. I was heartbroken to hear of her passing. Heaven has a beautiful angel.   16. I went to school with Diane. We had been Facebook friends for years. I just learned that she had heard that she passed away. I am so shocked. I knew she had to have some surgery but she seemed to be improving. I am so very sad to hear about her death. I enjoyed seeing her pictures of Maxwell aka Handsome. Praying for the family.
