Arnold “Bill” Lott Adams

ROCKY MOUNT, NC - Arnold Lott Adams (Bill), age 94, died Monday, April 09, 2012. Mr. Adams was born in Wilson County on December 12, 1917, the son of the late Van Buren Adams and Maryann Eliza Edwards Adams. Mr. Adams founded Adams Wholesale Company back in 1938 with the addition to Freds Food Club in 1992, and has been active in the business for 74 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Alton Whitfield Adams; a sister, Alice Irene Adams Hobbs; and a brother, Buren Alton Adams. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 71 years, Evelyn Mae Whitfield Adams; sons, Adam Fred Adams and his wife Lois of Rocky Mount NC and Arnold Kent Adams and his wife Becky of Morehead City NC; four grandchildren, Roger Dean Boles and his wife Tonya of Rocky Mount NC; Mark Wesley Boles of Holly Springs NC, Cynthia Smith Sego of Greenville NC and Alyce Kimberly Rains: and six great-grandchildren, Chelsea Boles and Corey Boles of Rocky Mount NC, Elliott Boles, Grayson Boles and Jackson Boles of Holly Springs NC and Kyle Alan Rains. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the many who assisted them with Mr. Adams medical and healthcare needs. A graveside service will be held at 11:00a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Pineview Cemetery with Rev. Kathy Jo Mitchell. Visitation with the family will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1101 West Haven Blvd., Rocky Mount NC 27803. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N.
